Getting Here

Step one: Arrive in San Jose, Costa Rica

Getting here by Ferry:

You can take a ferry from Puntarenas to Paquera. It costs about $10 USD for a car with a driver. You can also walk on the ferry, the cost is about $8 USD.

Ferries leave every two hours from 4:30am until 10:30pm.

On the Paquera side buses leave for Malpais, which will bring you close to Santa Teresa. Contact us about arranging travel from Mal Pais to Casa Colibri.

Getting here by plane:

Two airlines: Sansa and Nature Air fly from San Jose to the Nicoya Peninsula. The closest they come is Tambor and you'll need to arrange a Taxi from the airport to Santa Teresa and Casa Colibri. You'll want to arrange the taxi before you fly, details on that below.

Getting here by bus:

You can get to Santa Teresa from San Jose by bus for about $10USD. The bus line is: Transportes Rodriguez, Tel. Information: 642 0740 and 642 0219 and the bus takes about 5 hours, including the ferry ride.
